He further emphasized that the gesture was completely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the wrong digit,” he remarked. “It was accidentally performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”
